Functional Medicine

Functional medicine is a personalized, holistic approach that connects your health history, nutrition, sleep, stress and movement. We bring together established care and carefully reviewed emerging options to build a plan around your health conditions and goals.

Our approach

What Is Functional Medicine?

It’s a way of looking at the whole picture. Instead of treating one symptom on its own, we look at how your history, nutrition, sleep, stress and movement fit together.

A lot of people find us after being told their tests look fine while they still feel run down or just off. You don’t need a diagnosis to book. Whether you have one or simply feel “not quite right,” we start by understanding your health.

Your first visit takes about an hour. We go through your medical conditions, current prescriptions, daily habits and goals, and talk about what might be contributing to how you feel. Bring recent labs and a list of the supplements you take, since those often tell part of the story.

Expect plenty of questions about sleep, food, stress and energy. Those answers usually shape the plan more than any single test.

Your care, connected.

Your plan may draw from our full range of services, including nutrition and nutrient support, weight and hormone care, nerve and pain therapies, OMM, mental health support and targeted testing. We select appropriate options that may help improve wellbeing and manage symptoms.

Where It Can Help

Functional medicine sits alongside the care you already get from your other doctors. We give extra attention to nutrition, movement, sleep, stress and daily habits, because those are often the pieces nobody has had time to look at closely.

It isn’t a replacement for specialist care, and we’ll say so when a referral makes more sense.

  • Understanding factors that may contribute to your symptoms.
  • Building habits around energy, sleep and everyday wellbeing.
  • Coordinating your care around clear, practical priorities.

Thoughtful, individualized options

Emerging approaches are considered only when clinically appropriate and legally available. We discuss the evidence, uncertainties and alternatives with you.

Concerns we often discuss include blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar, digestive trouble like reflux and bloating, thyroid and menopause symptoms, poor sleep and ongoing fatigue. When medication changes come up, they’re coordinated with your prescriber.

You’ll leave your first visit with a few clear priorities rather than a long list of changes. We start where the effort is most likely to pay off, then build from there. Some people need closer check-ins at first; others need occasional visits. Changes may take weeks or months, so we’ll talk about realistic expectations together.
